In todays world in which there are thousands of people thinking about what career to choose to develop professionally in the coming years, I would like to recommend the one for which I opted to become IT field engineer in those times that for these millennials may seem little better than the Pleistocene: the beginnings of the Internet.
So we still had the Spectrum or the Comodore, we programmed in the first monochrome monitor PCs, the mobiles were almost a luxury item and the so-called "network of networks" or "information highway" seemed to us an exciting entelechy but still far away. TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING IS AN EXCITING CAREER TO CHOOSE - What could I choose to answer all these concerns? I certainly liked computer science, software, programming ... but all that fell short. Because they were only tools to achieve an objective; and that's where the possibility of choosing telecommunications engineering appeared before me. A complex race? Certainly. But also a stimulating scenario of personal and professional development that allowed me to take my natural liking for technology, but in the most dynamic way possible and with a practical, exciting and clearly results oriented approach.
